How does import duties work?

Hello GoVenture,
Does import duties only apply when goods are transported from a country away to another bordering country?

My concern is since I am working with a manufacturer from Myanmar and I am a retail business.
If I accept the offer will I need to pay import duties as the product travel from Myanmar to China?

@chuanmedia, yes, Import duties are charged by a country when you import a product into that country. Duties are automatically collected by the government at the time the transaction is made.
