I have not received any update to this case nor what the consequences is/ will be. I have the feeling that this had been forgotten about. For me this was mainly to stop idiotic advertisements where people just try to benefit themselves beyond advertising their business and services. But also to try out this functionality of this game. I really hope that this was just forgotten about and not the actual mechanics of the game because then you might as well just take it out of the equation if nothing happens.
